This is the season for giving and we wanted to celebrate this great initiative from the Somerset Toiletry Company. Sidcotian and Associate Director at the company Zantore Buoy (S: 2014 -2016) has been working with his colleagues alongside Bristol Street artist 'Inkie' to create the 'Soap with Hope' bars which are being sold in aid of BillyChip, a social enterprise that helps the homeless in the city.
Taking some inspiration from the Roald Dahl Christmas classic 'Charlie & the Chocolate Factory', ten of the 1,000 bars sold will contain a golden ticket, which can be exchanged for a signed £100 'Inkie' print.
Jon Hope, Co-Founder at BillyChip, said: “The team at The Somerset Toiletry Company have supported us for many years and to see Inkie - a Bristol based artist – design this soap and mural has been incredible. We look forward to launching Soap with Hope as a unique Christmas gift for art lovers, helping us raise money to support those spending the festive break on the streets," he added.
The soap is one of 25 'acts of kindness' by the company, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Inkie also created a mural for The Somerset Toiletry Company Zantore Buoy said: "We will hang Inkie's work in our factory proudly for many years to come."
The soap can be purchased here for £6.95 with 100% of proceeds go directly to BillyChip, helping those experiencing homelessness. BillyChip tokens are worth £2, can be bought and given to homeless people to exchange for a hot meal and drink in cafes and food shops. www.billychip.com.
