Sidcot School Speleological Society |
The SSSS was first formed in the 1920's and it has enjoyed a long and illustrious membership since inception. Many Sidcotians recount their caving memories with great affection when they visit the School and there are certainly some great stories that have been told!
Although there was limited participation in the SSSS from the mid-1990's, our new Outdoor Learning Co-ordinator Steph Tidey has rekindled a love for climbing and caving among our current pupils. Since 2018, caving now regularly features as part of our PASS activity programme on a Wednesday afternoon. We are also very grateful to our caving community, who recently donated funds to our current caving club to enable us to buy some invaluable new equipment.
Do you remember making an entry into one of the many caving log books? We have an online record of all the log books available here and we have a catalogue of all the log books in the Archive Rooms, a list of which are available below. We also have an impressive array of surveys available too. You may even be the author of one of these - please let us know if that's the case and we can arrange to share these with you next time you visit School. In due course we are hoping to have all these surveys scanned so they can be shared digitally.
Please let us know if you have caving stories and photo's to share with us and we would be happy to share them via the club pages.
