Memories of an English lesson from Anthony Baker, Class of 1950

In 1950 there was a state visit to the United Kingdom by the French President and his wife. Sidcot's English master Ivan Gray delivered his composition on the event to the sixth form English literature class. It needs, I think, Ogden Nash-style spelling.

They go de luxe

In truxe.

'Gloriol' is 'glory-hole in a French accent.
