Today we welcomed Prof. Tony Watts (S.1956 - 63) and his colleague Owen into School to (gratefully!) accept their donation of two microscopes previously used by the Department of Earth Sciences at University of Oxford.
The microscopes will now be used by our enthusiastic Science staff (especially Geologist Jamie Stanfield) to encourage our students in pursuing their interest in Geology.
Tony has some wonderful stories to tell, both from his time at School, and from his career as a Professor of Marine Geology and Geophysics. He will be delivering the Easter Talk on Friday 7 April (7pm, Meeting House) at our Reunion Weekend, so please register your interest in attending that via alumni@sidcot.org.uk or at the link here.
We were also pleased to show Tony around our renovated Archive, and found his caving logs and rugby photos! Thank you for joining us today, Tony.
