Katherine worked for many years, alongside her husband and family in their successful Godshill pottery business, based in The New Forest, in Hampshire. During her time at Sidcot Katherine was in many school plays and enjoyed hockey and biology. Married to fellow Sidcotian, Christopher Charman who survives her, along with their two children Ellen Mary born in 1961 and Tom Edward, born in 1963.
During her early lifetime Katherine travelled extensively across America and studied Fabric Printing and Weaving at Art School in Winchester. After her student years Katherine worked as a potter and a part-time farmer. Her hobbies included Cycle Touring, Amateur Dramatics, Gardening and Painting.
