It is with much sadness that we report the recent passing of Honorary Sidcotian Kathleen Hall on January 29th 2024. Our thoughts are with her husband family and friends at this challenging time.

"Kathleen will live on in our memories for many years due to the amazing work she and Chris (S:1941 - 1947) did as a couple in putting together the Register of Old Scholars from 1808 - 1998. We refer to it every day to give us information about Sidcotians." With greatful thanks... The Alumni Team, Sidcot School. Below is Kathleen's own extract from The Register: 

Hall, Kathleen Mary (nee Lée) secretary; b. Winchester, 21st April 1931 p. Denis Albert Bailey Lee and Bessie Constance (Finch); m. Christopher Nelson Hall (aero-engineer) (q.v.) at Compton Winchester. 27th February 1954; ch. Timothy John b. 1962, Richard Nelson b. 1964; 1950 Diploma, Queens Secretarial College; 1950 - 1954 Secretary to Professor of Electrical Engineering, Imperial College; 1954 - 1958 Secretary to Principal of School of Gas Turbine Technology, Power Jets Farmborough; 1966 co-founder of Camberley's first Pre-School Playgroup; 1978 - 1987 Resources Assistant, then Secretary to Headmaster, Watchetts Middle School, Camberley; 1992 -1998 School Governor; 1988/89 joint President S.O.S.A. with Chris; 1990 - 2001 producing the 1808 - 1998 S.O.S.A. Register with Chris' assistance; Quaker Elder and P.M. Clerk; choral singing, circle dancing.   

Kathleen and Chris attended many Easter Reunions over the years, with Kathleen being very involved  with costumes for the Monday night entertainment in particular.

There is to be a Meeting for Worship on Monday 19th Feb at the New Forest Crematorium, Stem Lane, New Milton, Hants, and a Memorial Meeting at 5 p.m. the same day at Bournemouth Meeting House.
